Most of our caregivers come from word-of-mouth referrals. They don't need to be on Care.com or Facebook, because they have us. We're looking for experienced, reliable people who take pride in their work and treat every family like their own. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Yes. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We run a thorough background check on every candidate we place, so valid work authorization is required before we can move forward. If you have questions about your eligibility, feel free to reach out to us!
Yes, we call references for every single candidate. It's an important part of how we match you with the right families, and it helps us learn more about your strengths! Please make sure your references are current, that they know they might hear from us, and that you've included their correct phone numbers. Recent written letters of recommendation are required, and we need them as PDF files.
Great question! The information you enter in your application becomes the profile that families review when they're looking for a caregiver. We remove personal details like your home address, age, and contact information, but everything else (your bio, experience, skills, and answers) goes directly to the families we match you with. That means spelling, grammar, and how you describe yourself all matter. Take your time filling it out, proofread before you submit, and write the way you'd want a family to see you. Think of it as your first impression!
Families want to see the warm, friendly person who's going to walk through their door, so pick a photo where you look happy, smiling, and professional! A simple, well-lit headshot works best. Please avoid selfies taken in a car, photos with sunglasses, heavy filters, or heavy makeup. And a quick tip: make sure all of your social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) are set to private. Families will look you up!
It varies! Some caregivers get matched with a family within a few days, and for others it can take a couple of weeks depending on what's available and what you're looking for. Once you submit your application, we'll review it and reach out by email to schedule a virtual interview. After that, we'll contact you when we have a well-matched opportunity. Some of our nannies have been placed in just a few days, so it can move fast!
Nope! There's no cost to you at any stage. Applying is free, interviewing is free, and getting placed is free. All fees are paid by the families. We don't take anything from your paycheck, either. The family is your employer and pays you directly.
Interviews are unpaid, but paid trials are! Once a family is interested in you after an interview, the next step is usually a paid trial (4-hour minimum) so you can both see if it's the right fit before making a commitment. It's a great chance to experience the family's routine and show them what you bring to the table.
Yes, a valid driver's license and a reliable car are required. You're responsible for your own transportation to and from work. Many of our families are in the suburbs, so having your own car is essential. And a heads-up: we're in Chicago, so snow is part of the deal! Unless there's an official warning to stay off the roads, families count on you to show up just like they have to show up for their jobs.
Families want to hear about relevant experience: nannying, teaching, nursing, house management, cooking, childcare, or senior care. Please leave off unrelated jobs like retail or corporate work. Focus on what makes you a great fit for the role you're applying for. And make sure your CPR certification is current! If it's expired, you'll need to renew it before your start date.
